The management of the agricultural and pasture ecosystems in the project area (Spain, Basque Country) is subjected to several threats caused by improper agricultural practices, by the abandonment of the traditional activities and by the invasion of allochthonous plant species representing threats to the flora, the fauna and the agricultural systems in the different habitats.

The SOILMONTANA Project aims to contribute to stop the biodiversity loss in those critical areas, implementing short-term and medium-term actions through a new assessment tool: the Agroecosystem Health Card (AHC).
